Right? Wrong?
I say neither. It's a perosnal decision... Personally, I wouldn't do it. But I don't judge people who would.

I think that it should be the choice of the mother. However, I do think that it is wrong to use it as a form of 'birth control'. I think that it should mostly be used in situations where the child would not have a good life or the parents legitimately cannot raise it.

I think it's completely reasonable in rape cases. You should not be forced to keep the rapist's child, nor did you do anything to bring it upon yourself to have that responsibility. If it was completely your doing I think you have a higher obligation to keep the child.
Also, I do think it's primarily the mother's decision but also the father should be involved, particluarly in married situations. That's because it's also his child.

Yes, I think that rape would be a reasonable thing to use abortion for, as well as the health of the mother.
I agree that the father should have some say, but ultimately, it is the mother that has to go through the pains of carrying the child and then labor, and probably breast feeding so it is more her say than the father's. In a married situation though I think that unless, like I said earlier, they can't care for it, then abortion is unreasonable.

Agreed on that last part. If you're married and stable, you have no reason to abort your child.

Right? Wrong? I say neither. It's a perosnal decision... Personally, I wouldn't do it. But I don't judge people who would. I wouldn't do it, and I wouldn't want my immediate family to do it either. It is destroying a life. The couragous thing would be to carry the baby full term then give it up for adoption. There are so many people who cannot conceive for various reasons, and would love to adopt a newborn. Abortion is a selfish move and in many cases, taken too lightly. Of cource, it's understandable, and should be an option if there are severe health risks involved for the mother and baby, or if the child was conceived by a rape situation that shouldn't have taken place to begin with.

I'm sorry but I don't see the relevance of it being your immediate family or a stranger. I do, however, agree that it's never something to be taken lightly. A also agree that adoption is a better option.

I just think Any one person in the world should have total control of what to do with their lives, and bodies. (That being said i do not believe an unborn child has actually begun life the second after being conceived.) No one in the world can tell someone what to do about anything, It's all ones own choice, and no one else.

I believe that when they are conceived it is life.. But when a baby really becomes human is when its heart starts beating.

I'm dead against abortion unless the woman's life is in danger or the pregnancy comes about through rape or incest.
No, I'm NOT a Catholic; I'm a Protestant.
When I got pregnant with my first child the doctor advised me to have an abortion because my son was going to be born with genetic defects.
I chose to have him.
I nearly died giving birth but I don't regret my choice.
I also have a young daughter who is fine though little Lou (10 years old now) will never be quite what other people would call normal.
I love him to bits.
Abortion EXCEPT in cases where the Mum's life is in danger or it's come about through rape or abortion is murder as far as I'm concerned.
The only difference between abortion and infanticide is the timing!
(Sorry if that offends people)
